Where Water Flows Uphill

A Children’s Museum Art Installation at the LINC Library Innovation Center in Greeley Colorado.

Bikeshop Agency’s Journey in Crafting the Audio Visual and Electronic Interactive Elements of Where Water Flows Uphill.

In the heart of Greeley, Colorado, lies a haven of wonder and creativity known as the Library Innovation Center (LINC). Among its myriad attractions, stands a beacon of innovation and artistry called Where Water Flows Uphill (WWFU). Designed by the visionary artist Wes Bruce, this immersive installation merges art and technology to create an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

At the helm of the technological marvels within WWFU is Bikeshop Agency. Our expertise in electronics and audiovisual effects brought Wes Bruce's vision to life, infusing each element with interactivity and longevity. With a commitment to building experiences that endure, our craftsmanship shines through in every aspect of WWFU.

Our journey began with a desire to address a common frustration: the ephemeral nature of many museum installations. Determined to defy this trend, we set out to craft systems that not only captivated audiences but also stood the test of time with minimal maintenance. Our goal was clear: to design and build components that would endure, enriching the visitor experience for years to come.

Central to WWFU's allure is a mesmerizing film and soundtrack curated by Wes Bruce, filmmaker Ryan Shoemaker, and composer James Bishop. Our meticulous craftsmanship ensured that the audiovisual elements seamlessly integrated into the space, enveloping guests in a sensory journey unlike any other.

With 10 unique elements meticulously designed and centrally controlled, our dedication to excellence is evident at every turn.

From the ethereal glow of the sun silo, illuminated by 1200 LEDs controlled by Arduino microcomputers, to the enchanting wildflower room where proximity sensors activate delicate blooms, our attention to detail is unparalleled. Each element invites exploration, with surprises awaiting those who take the time to discover them.

One such hidden gem is the ultrasonic speaker nestled within the grotto, where visitors are treated to immersive sounds and poetry, seemingly emanating from within their own head. Our ingenuity extends to the moon, whose brightness responds to the movements of guests, and the breath room, where lights rise and fall, encouraging a moment of tranquility amidst the bustling environment.

Perhaps most enchanting of all is the fog scene, where a holographic projection dances upon a sheet of water vapor, transporting visitors deeper into the world of WWFU. Our automation prowess ensures that each element operates seamlessly, with occupancy sensors and manual overrides ensuring a flawless experience for all.

As the months have passed, WWFU has proven to be not only a testament to Wes Bruce's artistic vision but also a triumph of Bikeshop Agency's ingenuity and craftsmanship. Through our vast skill set, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence, we have elevated Where Water Flows Uphill into a timeless masterpiece, captivating the hearts and minds of all who dare to explore its depths.

As visitors continue to journey through this immersive wonderland, they will be forever touched by the magic woven by Bikeshop Agency and our team, leaving them with memories that will last a lifetime. In the world of Where Water Flows Uphill, the impossible becomes possible, thanks to the boundless creativity and dedication of Bikeshop Agency and our collaborators.
